Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teacher Education Program at Mayerson Academy
Teaching Staff
Stephanie Bradford, M.Ed. teaches biology at Clark Montessori. She has taught science for 9 years. Her background also involves instructing inclusion students and she has served on the Intervention Assistance Team and as team leader. Currently, she is the student council moderator. She is certified AMS Secondary 1 and 2.
Marta Donahoe, M.Ed is the director of CMSTEP and founder/program coordinator for Clark Montessori Secondary School. She has a master's degree in Education and is certified through AMS for ages 6-18. For the past 15 years, Marta has coordinated the development and implementation of the middle and high school Montessori program at Clark Montessori. She currently is consulting with Montessori schools and directing CMSTEP. She is a frequent presenter at AMS and NAMTA conferences.
Claudia Mann, M.Ed is a teacher with extensive experience in Montessori education. She has taught ages 6-12 and middle school. She holds AMS credentials for 6-15 year olds. She has been a lead teacher in various Montessori schools throughout the nation. For five years she was a program coordinator for Elementary I and II satellite training programs. She is currently head of school at a private Montessori school in Colorado.
Jean A. Marquard, M.Ed is the field studies designer and coordinator for Clark Montessori Secondary School. She is a member of the Instructional Leadership Team and has served in the team leader capacity role. She currently teaches Middle Level Language Arts and Social Studies. Jean has delivered many presentations throughout the world on Montessori issues and is certified through AMS for ages 12-18.
Barbara Scholtz, M.Ed teaches Middle School Math and Science. She is a lead teacher at Clark Montessori Secondary School. She serves on the Instructional Leadership Team for the Clark Montessori Foundation. Barb has delivered many presentations throughout the world on Montessori issues and is certified through AMS for ages 12-18.
Jo Ann Guido, M.A. teaches Math on an 11th & 12th grade interdisciplinary team at Clark Montessori High School. She has 20 years of teaching experience in Paideia and Montessori schools. Recently Jo has led student inter-sessions studying diversity in New York City and Mexico. Jo is a National Board Certified teacher and has a master’s degree in math education. Jo has presented workshops in Best Practices, Using Math Manipulatives, Graphing Calculators, and Instructional Alignment, at the Mayerson Academy in Cincinnati at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conventions. Jo has AMS certification for Secondary 1 and 2.
Dean Woodring Blasé, M.A. teaches 11th and 12th grade English at Clark Montessori High School in the Cincinnati Public School District. Prior to that, she taught at Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati. She trained at the University of Michigan, Miami University, and Middlebury College's Bread Loaf School of English. Dean's career has focused on teacher research, student-centered learning, and devising methods of expanding students' interests outside the classroom. She is certified AMS Secondary 1 and 2.
Mary Wertheimer, M. Ed. teaches English on an 11th & 12th grade interdisciplinary team at Clark Montessori High School. She is the English Curriculum Council Delegate, heads the high school Student Council, facilitates the students who care for the school’s chickens, and assists in the school’s apiary. Mary participated in Montessori 9-12 training through Xavier University and completed Montessori Secondary training in 2002. Mary has presented workshops in Best Practices and Secondary English Instruction at the Mayerson Academy in Cincinnati. She is certified AMS Secondary 1 and 2.
